Located in Lakeview, a premier neighborhood in Chicago, 621 W Belmont offers easy walking access to quaint shops, bars, and unique restaurants. The property served as the parish house of the adjacent Episcopal Church, which will remain in operation.
We repurposed the parish house, converting it into 20 apartments. This involved a complete gutting of the structure and creating entirely new floor plans. Units, as per our usual protocol, feature contemporary kitchens, baths, lighting and amenities. All apartments feature new HVAC, plumbing, electric, windows and finishes. New kitchens are equipped with quartz countertops, backsplashes and stainless steel appliances and in unit laundries.
The parish was previously owned by the Episcopal Church of Chicago. It was slated to be listed for sale, but JAB’s previous transactions with the Episcopal Church gave us the opportunity to submit an offer prior to being listed. Certainty of close and ease of prior transactions gave JAB a competitive advantage over others who would have been interested in the adaptive reuse opportunity that 621 W Belmont presented.
