THE JAB VISION: WHAT’S NEXT IN URBAN REAL ESTATE

If the middle of the 20th century was defined by families leaving the city for the suburbs, the final two decades saw the next generation start moving back. Lifelong Chicagoans Frank Campise and Jim Jann came of age in those years, and by the early 2000s they had become players in the city’s steadily growing multifamily real estate market. Since the Great Recession of 2008, their company, JAB, has grown rapidly in that space, raising over $150 million in equity and managing a half billion dollars in assets that include vintage renovation, adaptive reuse and new construction in key North Side neighborhoods.

Now, with the addition of new principal Sam Goldman and an evolving brand of amenity-rich apartment living, JAB is uniquely poised to meet the growing demand for lifestyle-enhanced rental properties in urban markets beyond our native Chicago, notably Salt Lake City and Denver. Our success to date speaks for itself. Our vision for the future does, as well.

MEET OUR PRINCIPALS

JAB’s leadership team consists of three Chicago area natives whose combination of market knowledge and urban real estate expertise is unsurpassed.

FRANK CAMPISE

Frank is a lifelong Chicagoan who has spent over 25 years acquiring, operating and selling multifamily residential properties throughout the city’s North Side, spearheading over $850 million in transactions as a principal. He is both a CPA and MBA, and serves on the boards of the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Lakeview.

JIM JANN

Jim is a seasoned real estate developer who has spent over 20 years building, renovating and operating North Side residential properties, including apartment buildings, condos and single family homes. An attorney and former Cook County prosecutor, Jim is very active in real estate trade associations, including Lincoln Park Builders and REIA Chicago.

SAM GOLDMAN

SAM GOLDMANPrincipal

Sam is a veteran real estate professional with over 10 years experience acquiring, redeveloping, and owning multi-family and commercial properties in various urban markets. He has been involved in transactions totaling nearly half a billion dollars to date and currently oversees third-party managers of properties in several states.
